Ultrasound gel gel “Akugel” produced by MediKraft LLC was being tested in ultrasound and radioisotope research methods department of Novosibirsk Region State Novosibirsk Regional Clinical Diagnostic Centre Municipal budgetary healthcare institution for two weeks. The acoustic gel “Akugel” meets the requirements of regulatory documents and has the certificate of conformance, issued by the Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology.

114 researches were conducted using “Akugel” in therapeutically, surgery, midwifery and genecology branches for indoor patients. The gel was applied to convex sensors of 2,0-5,0 MHz, and linear sensors of 5,0-10,0 MHz. The application provided good visual quality of structures located using В-regime, scanning using tissue harmonics imaging, Doppler’s regime and also using CDI regime as well as PDI regime. One could also appreciate good sensor gliding on patients’ skin and a long period of drying during the use.

During the period of use patients showed no allergy reaction to the acoustic gel when applying it to the skin. No marks of the gel were left on the patients clothes either.

After the ultrasound research is conducted the gel can be easily removed from the sensor surface by a napkin soaked in a distilled water and is easily removed from patients body. The sensors surface remains in a good condition after the gel application.
